A comfortable travel buggy-Ergobaby Metro or Pali Magic? Is there a universal bumper bar?

19 Feb 2020

Hello.

I want to ask about which buggy would be the best to take on holiday and on-board of an airplane over the summer when my child will certainly be able to sit independently already - but not walking yet.

I am quite keen on two types, but I am worried because one of them doesn't have a bumper bar. Sometimes, children don't want to be harnessed in… I already have one older child, and that was my experience. Is there any universal bumper bar that would be possible to buy???

My choice of strollers: the ERGOBABY Metro (Compact) City or the PALI Magic.

Thank you for the advice. I would appreciate your recommendation, which one of these strollers would be the TOP choice.

Hello!

Out of those two strollers you have chosen, my clear winner (when it comes to quality and comfort) would be the Ergobaby Metro. It is a smart stroller that is also very well made. I wouldn't hesitate too much.

Pali Magic is not bad, but I find it inferior, less elaborate - and also, less sturdy.

In regards to a bumper bar for the Metro - I think you will manage fine without it - don't forget the necessity of harnessing your hcild, it is for his/her safety after all. If you don't hesitate, they will take it as a given. My Maclaren Atom came with no bumper bar, and we have survived it without problems. If you insist on it, universal bumper bars do exist, but they are usually (hand-)made from textiles only (picture attached). Try to approach a local seamstress or some DYI 😉

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
