A compact buggy to keep in the car that WON'T RATTLE

28 May 2020

Hi Eli,

We thought about our current situation and came to a conclusion that we need some kind of a compact pushchair/buggy (with one single handlebar, please) that we would use for occasional walks, but mainly that would be kept in the car - one that will last until we need it. We do have a big pram for all-terrain needs that would be our Britax GoBig2.

*junior is 2 years old, so the backrest should not be short
*compact is key
*reclinable in the backrest and the leg rest area as well
*NO RATTLING! (I don't hear my beloveds Britax at all, so the standard is high 😃)

I was thinking about the Gesslein S8 (I saw some sale offer - I don't know if it's because it will get discontinued or what), the Hauck Rapid 3R... I am begging for some advice, also different models than I suggested (I quite like three-wheelers, actually)...
Thank you so much!

Hello!

Well, well, if you're used to the comfortable, quiet ride of your Britax Go Big, I would completely exclude cheaper models, like those from the Hauck brand. Overall, they would only make you disappointed by the quality and driveability. The Gesslein S8 Buggy is, in this case, a better option - and a more compact one to add to it - but it's an OK pushchair, nothing better than OK, though. To mainly keep in the car is, however, kind of fine with this one.

My personal opinion would be that after / or to add to/ your Go Big 2, you need something higher quality and with much better push. My best pick would be the Baby Jogger City Mini Zip. If it's not in your budget, perhaps try and check pre-loved ones. It's really worth it.

Other than that, I would look at something like the Cybex Eezy S+2 or the CBX Etu Plus, mainly because of their larger wheels.

And from the smallest buggies that won't rattle, the best - but probably also the most expensive - would be the new Joolz Aer. On the other hand, a compact, comfy three-wheeler to look at for sure would also be the Thule Spring.

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
