A compact follow-on stroller for the town, holiday, light terrain - to suit a 1.5-year old child

Hi.

I am in the process of buying a follow-on stroller for a toddler.

We use the Concord Wanderer around our village - it suits me in every way - except for weight and the bulky fold. Therefore, I'm looking for a recommendation on a follow-on stroller, which I can keep in my car. We are planning to use it for the town (any stroller would do in that case, I presume), but also take it on holiday (I expect broken paths, gravel, damaged tarmac, etc.) - not a heavily challenging mountain terrain, just imperfect urban surfaces.

Before the CW, I had the Peg Perego Book S (chassis + car seat), but it didn't suit me. The stroller was great for the smooth surfaces - but that means the use in the malls only. Any other surface I felt I am struggling with, and it was too much of a rattle for my baby. The fold was awesome, though.

I have used the Prampol Zebra (humongous and bulky) for my first child. Later, I have swapped the Zebra for a Moon umbrella stroller. It was a horror; I could only use it in a case of emergency when on a trip.

Therefore, I need a stroller that can handle a year and a half old child. Compared to the CW, I need something lighter with a more compact fold that can handle at least some terrain (thus, some suspension system is required as well). I don't insist on a reversible seat, even though I'm currently using our stroller in the parent-facing mode. Since my partner is tall, I need an adjustable handlebar. The leg rest and backrest should be adjustable too. I don't want a bucket type seat.

I find the Britax BM+ too big, and I don't like it. Although I never tried it, the Valco Snap 4 doesn't look flat. Perhaps, the finish of the Ultra TM is a different level. I like the PetiteMars Street Air, but the reviews came to contradictory conclusions. I also like the Joie Mytrax. I don't have experience with a Baby Jogger.

The budget for a second-hand stroller is 200 EUR.

Thank you very much for your time.

Hello!

Choosing from strollers you have mentioned, I think the Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 might be the best - the most spacious, the sturdiest with an easy compact fold. Although you don't have any experience with this brand, I would go for it.

From my point of view, I wouldn't recommend the Valco for much terrain. I find the Britax B-Motion Plus too big and clumsy. Not every parent is OK with its center of gravity - I strongly recommend trying it out before making a purchase. There is not a great deal of suspension in the Petite&Mars Street either. Otherwise, it is a nice, functional stroller. I would, however, recommend using air-filled wheels, which will make the ride much better, but on the other hand, will contribute to the overall higher weight of the stroller.

The Joie Mytrax is also a good one, but a bit heavier. That's why I would probably prefer the Baby Jogger. Or the new Thule Spring.

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
