A lightweight, compact, comfortable, practical stroller system that can handle the city+some terrain

26 Nov 2019

Hello.

Could you please advise a travel system for my April baby? I would like a lightweight and compact one (I often use my car) that can handle the city as well as some terrain. The stroller has to be comfortable for a baby, yet practical. So far, I don’t have a set budget. I'd like a 2in1 system - we'll buy the car seat separately. I've been through dozens of strollers, but I just feel lost, and I was given a lot of different bits of advice.

Thank you very much. Have a nice day.

Hello!

The Easywalker Mosey+ crossed my mind first. It is a lightweight, compact stroller, and thanks to larger wheels, the Mosey+ can even handle some uneven terrain. However, the design is quite unique (not to everyone's liking). Another possible candidate could be the Jané Kendo.

If you don’t insist on a reversible seat, the Casualplay LOOPi with Allroad wheels should be an excellent, versatile option. Alternatively, there is the LOOPi Running option with the sold-separately three-wheeled axle available that you can swap for to handle some all-terrain situations and sport.

From the range of more expensive, designer options, the Bugaboo Fox is worth a look.

The Concord Camino may not be the most lightweight alternative, but because of the rather compact fold, I think it is a good compromise. I also have to mention the ultra-sturdy Emmaljunga NXT60, and the NXT60 F. The NTX60 F offers a flat recline and conventional seat unit instead of the bucket-type seat of the non-F version. The chassis of both is super compact. Slightly less compact (still within the norm), but lightweight, and quite affordable (plus the awesome suspension system) is the ABC Design Salsa 4 system, absolutely worth a look.

Don’t forget, if you want a lightweight and compact stroller, it merely will be an all-terrain model. The proper all-terrain strollers are much more substantial, bulkier, and sturdier. That is why I've tried to suggest the best compromise between two very different groups of strollers (a kind of middle ground) 😉

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
