Affordable umbrella stroller: lay-flat recline+extendable hood+high weight capacity. Chicco or Joie?

26 Feb 2020

Hello.

I am planning to get an umbrella stroller, but I can't decide between the Chicco Liteway and the Joie Brisk LX. The most important thing is a flat recline, an extendable hood, a higher weight capacity, and, of course, some degree of sturdiness. Nothing too expensive. I need the stroller to be compact enough to fit into the boot of my car while being practical for everyday use. At the moment, I am using my Petite&Mars Street (a mid-size, front-facing only stroller).

So my question is - which umbrella stroller shall I choose?

Thank you.

Hi there!

If you want something sturdy enough - and not a stroller that rattles, the Chicco Liteway is not in the game, in my opinion. Overall, do remember, you're looking for an umbrella stroller, so it certainly won't be a 100% sturdy stroller. The most common complaint about the Chicco umbrella strollers is that you can hear the wheels rattle.

Therefore, the Joie Brisk LX is probably the better choice. Personally, I would check the The Koelstra Simba T4 first, though. Looking at other similar, affordable umbrella strollers, it probably offers the best quality and space for within this stroller and price category.

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
