An umbrella stroller suitable for 12kg child with high weight capacity, spacious, pre-loved. Which?

Hi there!

We would like to buy an umbrella stroller for our little one (because of traveling often). I am not familiar with all these stroller brands. After doing a bit of online research, I have realized that many manufacturers only guarantee the weight capacity of up to 15 kg (3-4 years old child). This made me nervous a bit - my 13 months old son is 12 kg already. I have no idea how big he is going to be when 3 years old.

Therefore, I would like to ask for advice on a particular umbrella stroller with a high weight capacity. At the moment, we are using a stroller - an old model we bought second hand. We quite like it, but it would be challenging to take this stroller when traveling by plane. And, I'll admit, the little one's legs are already sticking out.

We would love to buy the umbrella stroller second hand again as it is better for the planet, in my opinion. However, if that's not possible, we are happy to buy a new one. But, of course - the cheaper the better.

Thank you for your advice

Katie

Hello!

Choosing from second-hand umbrella strollers, I would definitely go for the Maclaren brand. There is plenty of them available second hand - and, what is more, they last for years and years, and you probably won't be able to find more spacious umbrella strollers. Plus the incomparable quality... However, like any other umbrella strollers, they will be rather long when folded. I must say I even own one to keep as a spare at my mom's house since she lives a bit far from us -- it is the Techno XLR. Also, check out a pre-loved Cybex Callisto - it is also a nice option.

Considering new umbrella strollers with a reasonable price tag, I would recommend the Koelstra Simba T4 for sure - it is a well-made model, compared to similar ones in its class and price range.

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
