Emmaljunga NXT60/60 F? Which type to choose - bucket/non-bucket seat? Will it fit tall parents?

23 Apr 2020

Hi Eli,

I would like to ask for advice. I really like the Emmaljunga NXT60 line (mainly because of its chassis' compactness and sturdiness, based on the reviews I read, but I have no way to try it out for myself somewhere at the moment). I don't know, however, which to choose - the bucket-seat of the NXT60, or the lay-flat seat of the NXT60 F? Which would you choose? And one more question - isn't this model too low to the ground - too short for tall parents (I am 170cm tall, my hubby 190 cm)? It seems to be a bit low from the pictures... Or would you recommend looking for a completely different model?

Thank you for your reply, and have a nice day

Hey there!

I will start with the height of the stroller. The Emmaljunga NXT60 IS a stroller with a lower-positioned seat, yes. However, I am also a taller person (176 cm) and, truth to be told, I never had a problem with a lower stroller. I also owned a M&P Urbo, which is also a model with a lower-positioned seat - and even more so the carrycot. It is all about your expectations - if you're particularly looking for a 'tall' stroller, you will find this not that great, height-wise. On the other hand, the Emmaljunga brand is extremely popular, e.g., in its homeland - Sweden, where the parents are tending to get the most high-quality products. While walking in Stockholm, I saw many tall daddies exactly with this model - NXT60, which was interesting to see - a tall person and a smaller-size pram, but it's actually truly practical to use in narrow, crowded streets and any situation, where you'ĺl find something compact useful. So my answer's gonna be - yes, it's a 'lower' stroller, but nothing extreme and very doable, and I find no problem in this fact if you don't find it there. If you still prefer a taller model, I would look at the NXT90 line, which is similar in functioning, just a bit more robust - still not ultra-high, but higher.

Moving on to the choice of the bucket- or lay-flat seat unit. I find both seats fantastic, to be honest. Super spacious with a long leg rest to a comfy nap, great also for older toddlers... An advantage of the lay-flat seat of the F line is a bit larger canopy and for some more optimal, fully reclined, flat position. A disadvantage of it is somewhat higher weight, and I personally prefer the more lightweight options in general. And since I do like the ergonomic bucket-style seat units quite a lot, combined with the lower weight, I would probably opt for the bucket-type NXT60 or NXT90 model. Anyhow, if you like the Emmaljunga strollers, I would certainly choose a model from them. It's a sturdy brand with strollers that endure even more kids in a row, will pass through pretty much everything, and not everybody has it, so it's also original in a way... for me, there's not much better available.

P.S. I include pics with dads, for you to easier imagine this stroller with somebody taller. First is the NXT60, second the NXT90, and the third picture is the NXT60 F - so you can see the canopy... 😉

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
