Joie Pact versus Kinderkraft Indy. Which ultracompact is better, quality-wise?

17 Apr 2020

Hello.

I am thinking about buying the Joie Pact for my city-strolls and older toddler needs - I am searching for something cheap and really really compact that will do the job. But I also bumped into the Kinderkraft Indy online. It seems to feature only slight suspension on the rear wheels, and also, I am a bit worried about the quality of a Polish buggy. Is it at least as good quality-wise as the Joie Pact, or do you consider the Pact to be better?

Hi there!

Well, this is a bit tricky to answer. You know, the Joie Pact as well as the Kinderkraft Indy are cheap models, meaning I wouldn't expect a big difference in quality. Both are only sporting a light suspension; both are very small (therefore, the thing to consider is mainly the backrest, which is OK in both buggies); both have a rather small and not that sturdy a canopy... Overall, easy little pushchairs for undemanding parents, where most features are dependent/relative to the affordable price - including the quality. I don't think you will make a mistake with any of those, compared to the other one. Also, don't forget to count on a not-so-upward seat (in the sitting position) with both of them.

If I am truly to make a strict verdict, I would probably opt for the Joie Pact in this case - Joie is a little better, non-Polish brand (even though most of the pushchairs are anyway made in China, so it only depends on the producer to set up the right production costs and quality-requirements)... And with the Pact, I also like a little more the thicker plastic parts, the wider wheels, and the slightly more compact folded package. It would be ideal to go and try both buggies somewhere to see how they feel in your hand, but with the situation as it is, I would recommend listening to your feeling and design-preferences, and my opinion will be that I am a little more inclined to the Pact.

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
