Opinion about the Kids2Sit second seat and its Britax compatibility

Farah • 21 Jan 2020

What is your opinion about the additional Kids2Sit second seat for an older sibling. Is it compatible with Britax strollers? Will the carrycot be stable enough?

Thank you.

Hello!

The Kids2Sit-For is not a thing I'd recommend. It may overload multiple parts of the stroller in a very bad way. What's more, having an older sibling sitting above a baby in a carrycot is a recipe for disaster as it can roll/fall backwards on the top of the baby… Strollers are simply not designed for such a dramatic change in loading and center of gravity changes. Therefore, it is not a surprise that the carrycots can officially hold up to 9 kg. As an absolute emergency solution, maybe... but certainly not for regular use, it is simply not safe enough.

I would suggest an additional sibling board ("skate" for strollers) that attaches at the back of the stroller. Some of them - for example, the universal Lascal Buggyboard Maxi, or the Bumprider, which I strongly recommend - can also be purchased with a seat to add to it (and the older one can, therefore, sit in the back). Be aware, adding a sibling board slightly affects the overall manipulation of the stroller (in a negative way) and you will have to adjust your walk. Otherwise, the board will be, unfortunately, in your way. That's how it goes with stroller solutions for two children - it just won't be absolutely ideal and cheap at the same time. Luckily, moms are always happy to adapt or help each other, and I am sure you will manage just fine. You just need to consider which option - the more expensive one, or the one where you can save some money, is better for you.

Your -very berry- Eli.
