Pushchair after a 3in1 ABC Design system - Joie, Valco, ABC, Jané... which (middle price range)?

23 Apr 2020

Hello,

we are slowly moving on to choose a pushchair after a 3in1 pram/system we had (ABC Design Condor). We were happy with it. We are walking mainly in an urban area, but we would want it to be able to tackle at least some uneven terrain (like a pathway through a neer forest! - just like our present pram can. We were looking at the Joie and the Jane brand, and also, since we were happy with our present pram, ABC Design pushchairs as well.

I noticed the Joie Litetrax and a Valco pushchair (and also its reversible option) - but I don't really know what the differences are, and also, how to orientate between different Litetrax and Mytrax pushchairs. From the Jane and ABC brands, we are actually not quite sure what to look at. What would you suggest - based on your experience? I would ask for a fully reclining seat and an extendable canopy (if possible) to be present in those recommended models. Price-wise, something middle-class, nothing too expensive.

Thank you in advance

Hello!

If you were that happy with the ABC Design brand, I would certainly checked out their ABC Design Okini pushchair. It's an interesting, well-made model with enough space for the child. An alternative, if you'll find one reasonably priced, would be its predecessor - the Mint.

Valco Baby brand-wise, it's mostly a number of similarly-functioning pushchairs that are quite urban because of their foam wheels and no suspension. If you're looking for at least some all-terrain features, I would only recommend the versions with air-filled 'Sport wheels', and because of space and features provided, my choice would be the Valco Snap Trend Sport. All the other models don't seem to me as the best price-performance ratio for you.

Moving to the Joie brand, I would probably only considered the Litetrax Air o the higher Mytrax line. A small disadvantage there is the higher weight and the front wheels that are a little noisy on uneven surfaces, BUT those can be fixed with a sealing rubber band put in the wheel housing. A very simple solution, so I would not get put off because of that.

Jané pushchairs-wise, I can't really offer anything in this category that would suit you, I believe - they offer a bit of a different style of prams and pushchairs, and I believe the above and below mentioned pushchairs would suit you better. On the other hand, I certainly feel like recommending the Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 (an excellent, extra spacious choice, even though a little more expensive); next, the Britax B-Motion Plus; the TFK Dot 2 is a high-quality and certainly interesting option... and I will also mention the Gesslein S4.

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
