Which stroller system - Cybex Priam, Roan Bloom, or Britax Go Big?

12 Mar 2020

Hi Eli.

Slowly but surely, I have started looking for a stroller system. There are three I am considering now; each offers something else I like about it.

My number one is the Cybex Priam, but I'm slightly discouraged by the price. After I saw the Priam in the store, I'm not that excited anymore. I found it too 'hard' for my taste...

My second favorite is a Polish system - the Roan Bloom. The carrycot is excellent, but the seat unit seems to be the same you can see in similar stroller systems - nothing special, really… I don't know if it's worth the money.

Finally, my third favorite – the Britax Go Big 2... I think the carrycot and the seat unit offer enough space + a high weight capacity, and a large shopping basket underneath, which will be useful for our pocket dog. The only thing I don't like as much is the position of the seat unit - I think it is a wee too low, but that's not crucial. I won't be able to stick with just one stroller for the whole strolling period anyway - I presume I will go through more strollers than I did with my first daughter. Unfortunately, I didn't come across the Go Big 2 anywhere in a store yet to have a closer look.

Which one of these three strollers would you recommend?

My car is pretty small, but I won't be driving that often. I am planning to push the stroller most of the time - so I think I'll always manage to fit it in my car boot somehow. I usually walk through the city, but also fields and forest paths - but not a real off-road. My little one is due in August.

Thank you.

Hi there!

Judging by the way you are talking about the Cybex Priam, it looks like you were thrilled with the design until you saw it in the store. For that reason, I would rule it out immediately. You shouldn't buy a stroller only because you like how it looks, especially if you can identify its flaws straightaway.

The Roan Bloom has a nice, practical carrycot; however, I find the stroller part (seat unit) not as great. I guess it is OK if you are planning to use the Bloom while the child is in the carrycot. Later, with the stroller configuration, I am not that sure. Compared to the other strollers, I think the Bloom is somewhere else - rather below the other two.

In my opinion, the Britax Go Big is absolutely the best choice in this case. The seat unit is positioned slightly lower, so your child can climb into the seat without any help and can be proud of himself - it is actually an advantage of sorts. The stroller itself will suit taller parents too - the handle and overall robustness work miracles there. The folding is not super-compact, but from what you've said, it should be manageable. The easy maneuverability will make it up for anything negative.

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
