BabyActive Trippy

The affordable double&triple tandem
.eli
see 2 parent reviews

The BabyActive Trippy is an affordable triple stroller system with a tandem style seating, able to handle three siblings. Thanks to the chassis with suspension and air-filled wheels, the Trippy can handle even demanding terrain. Two tandem adapters attached to the chassis will allow you to add three seat units, three carrycots, three optional car seats, or any combination of these components. Therefore, the Trippy is suitable for triplets from birth as well as for siblings with a small age gap.

Using just one adapter instead of two, you only create a two-seat tandem Twinni, suitable for twins or two siblings with a small age gap. The Trippy paired with an optional mono adapter is usable for one child only as well, which comes handy when the older siblings don't need a stroller anymore.

  • Size
  • The way it is folded
  • Goes through most doors
  • Easy folding
  • Can also be used as a double stroller :)
  • Higher price :)

We have nothing to reproach this pram. Of course, it is heavy, but compared to other triple strollers it is the best option. We are completely satisfied :)

Worth every penny

This is the triplets stroller we used it is AMAZING. Worth every penny.

Starts as a stroller with bassinets, add infant car seats then to a regular toddler stroller. It can be used as a 3 or 2 or 1! Stroller which was handy sometimes you have to take only 1 or 2. Fits through doors and folds down easily and compact. Perfect!!!!

Your questions about the BabyActive Trippy

1)

Is the stroller airline approved? I can’t find any sticker on it.

Hi,

What do you mean by airline approved? Because the only certification is cabin-approved, meaning fitting the overhead compartment, which this definitely won't. Otherwise, you should be able to take it on board, most probably as checked luggage - or, if having three little babies, explore the options of baby luggage with your airline.

Hi,

Is the buggy easy to manoeuvre around freely and is it a little smaller than the lots of babies 3 seat buggy? Do the swivel wheels do a good job at swivelling and last long? I read the wheels buckle, why’s this?

Hey, Zoey,

The front wheels can buckle because they are larger, it happens with any larger wheels and with a bit of a grip, should not be too much of a problem.

The stroller itself is, I would say, smaller than other three-seaters, however, it will never be totally small and totally maneuverable. Especially when fully loaded, you just will feel the weight of the children, and the lifting, although not horrible, won't be easy as more weight is in the front. In general, the steering will be ok for what it is though, but you should not expect miracles - this is a budget, and rather simple (plus not too roomy in the seat area) triple stroller, and it should be taken as such.

Can you use it as a double with one behind the other rather than next to each other?

Hi, Jenny,

Well, yes, you don't really use it as a double with only the seats in front. One of the configurations, the double one, is literally one seat behind the other, and it is also called Twinni (when sold only as a double, and you can do that with the triple, too, with the right adapter). Check the Twinni stroller to see what that looks like. And also, consult the manual, where everything should be explained.

Hi,

I've recently purchased the Trippy Babyactive pram 2nd hand and there are 2 bars on the trippy carrycot that I think are used to help prop it up / carry it, but I am not sure how they should be placed in the pram. Do they sit above the mattress and the padding or underneath, and how do I use them to support / carry the carrycot and ensure it is safely positioned for when baby is in it? I can't find any instructions on this.

Thanks

Hi, Kay,

I am not sure which you mean, but am guessing you mean the internal bars (included in the photograph)? They are meant to keep the carrycot open, firm, and they can be pulled towards the middle to collapse it in case you'd need to fold it flatter (for the car boot or for storage). So when in use, just keep them where they are, and pull both inwards if needing to fold the carrycot.

In this video, you can see what I mean at about 0:57.

Hi,

Can the trippy triple be used as a running pram?

Thanks, Katie

Hi, Katie,

Definitely no. The base is too short, and the sheer size and shape of the pram make it dangerous to be running with it.

For reference, a jogger should be shaped like, e.g., the Thule Glide Double. I know no triple stroller that could be used as a jogging stroller.

Can you get in places with this pram and on buses as a triplet pram? As I just had triplets and haven't used the pram yet

Hey, Leah,

I must say, to get on a bus, in the metro, shopping aisles and similar will be extremely hard to impossible at times with such a large pram. You see it yourself it is a very robust stroller system, the fron two seats make the center of gravity quite forward-placed, and you alone WON'T safely make it, pulling (and endangering) three babies in a tight space that moves (a bus, a train...).

So I suggest you'll get used to a new life, walk primarily outside, and if needing to travel, get 3 small buggies and your family to help you.

Hello!

I am from Croatia. It is so hard to find a stroller for triplets. Where can I buy it?

Thank you for helping

Hi, Nina,

If there is no seller of this brand, my first go would be to search for it on eBay. They even deliver to Croatia. Here is the link where you'll find the BabyActive Trippy on eBay.

And congratulations on triplets ^_^

Hi,

how much is this stroller please and where can I buy it?

Hey, Suzanne,

We don't sell anything on Strollberry. Depending on which country you're in, check eBay - I searched for this model for you here. This manufacturer ships the product to quite a few countries.

Hi there,

I have a Trippy stroller, it’s almost perfect for my daycare. The problem is the two front wheels continually kind of twist and buckle under the stroller making it very hard to manoeuvre. I’m really hoping you have some advice because we would love for it to work for us.

Thank you,
Kristi

Hey, KC,

I am going to disappoint you, unfortunately, as what you describe is not a problem that could be solved by simple stroller cleaning and maintenance (even though, cleaning and maintaining your wheels and other parts cannot hurt). Overall, this problem happens with cheaper strollers with wheels a lot.

You cannot really repair it as it is an internal looseness caused by a weak material. Apart from getting a new pram or frame, you can only fix the wheels in the locked position, so they wouldn't rotate at all, and push it a bit like a traditional, fixed-wheels stroller. That is the only thing that worked for moms overall, of course, not really making the turning easy, but at least a bit of help...

I am sorry. Try, perhaps, ask the seller about warranty or replacements chassis.

What comes standard with this stroller set? I have a 1 year old and am pregnant with twins due in March and am very confused on what parts I need to order. Does it come with regular seats?
Do I have to order the attachments separately to make it a triple stroller, or does it come with automatically?

Hi, Court,

I'll start with the last question, I believe. This stroller is modular, but what you get (a triple or a double or a single...) will depend on what NAME you are ordering. If you are ordering a Baby Active Trippy, you'll get a triple for sure. In the double/single-to-double mode it will be called a BabyActve Twinni.

As this is a stroller system, it will, in almost every case, come with the seats as well as at least one to two carrycot (with the Trippy, I believe it's almost always 3 carrycots as well). The actual offer, however, always relies on the seller. The seller can sell just parts or offer the option of mix and matching, choosing or tailor-made ordering a set you need. In a normal offer I encountered multiple times, the Trippy pram is sold with 3 seats, 3 bassinets, rain covers, and a changing bag. The manufacturer himself states that the Trippy set includes: "3 deep gondolas (a Polish way of saying carrycot), 3 strollers (=seats), 1 frame, 1 longitudinal / double adapter, 1 transverse / double adapter, 1 single adapter, 2 large wheels, 2 small wheels and 1 backpack." These listed items are also all that you'll need to use the pram as a triple.

Again, what you'll get is very much depending on the seller, so always email/call/inform yourself about what they offer at the store. Also, if someone sells only the Twinni, there will only be 3 carrycots and 2 seats and not all the adapters necessary, so about the availability of the parts that are still needed, you, again, need to speak with the seller that sells this stroller system to your country.

P.S. Do take into account that the seats are on the small side to fit on such a short-based frame. A 1.5-2-years-old could already be very cramped inside. Just a good-to-know 😉

I hope I was of help! Good luck, and stay safe ❤️
