Doona

see 3 parent reviews

The Doona is an innovative car seat offering a unique solution for parents that are often on the go. It is the world's only car seat with an ability to transform into a real travel system on its own - like a stroller, just with the car seat on. This is done by tilting out the chassis with wheels from the underpart and telescopic out the handlebar.

The Doona was developed over several years in cooperation with world-renowned engineers and professionals in the field of medicine and child safety. Thanks to the three-layer lateral protection, the Doona offers a high level of safety and comfort for the baby during travel as well as everyday walks. The ergonomic Doona Newborn Insert can be used for the smallest babies until your child reaches 81 cm of height or 13 kg. This truly premium product features a high quality, hardened-polymer stainless aluminum, and long-lasting wheels, which is, however, reflected on the higher price tag. Doona's unique design and practical features have won many awards worldwide. You can also purchase an optional snap-on storage add-on, a rain cover or a mosquito net, a changing bag, and a set of new wheels. A head support cushion will be available as well.

  • Integrated wheels
  • Weight

I'm glad I accidentally came across this option - a compromise between a car seat and a stroller frame. Suitable for all those who often travel by car and their car trunk was occupied by a chassis on which they clicked the necessary car seat. With this car seat you don't have to do anything, you just load it into the car and with one click the wheels open up when you take it out of the car. For me, 99% satisfaction - I take 1 % off for the weight, which is actually a price to pay for the added wheels :)

The invention of the century

5
  • Only takes up space in the car as a car seat
  • Very easy and quick to fold
  • Perfect for driving in small spaces (between shelves)
  • Newborn insert
  • Does not rattle at all
  • 5-point harness
  • Certified for airplane transport
  • Large canopy
  • A bit weaker harness design

For me (and my husband) the invention of the century. If I wasn't a stroller maniac and didn't buy them for myself, I would have been fine with a Doona and a baby wrap (carrier) for the first six months of my baby's life ;-)

It' a very easy to handle, comfortable stroller. Super quick and maximally practical folding - passers-by didn't understand when I put it in the car :-D I also had an isofix base for it, so extremely easy - just click-click. Also the newborn insert, soft.

Obviously not suitable for long walks and everyday sleeping, but for running out to the doctor, to the store - perfect. The only thing I would criticize are the belts - they twist, so you have to straighten them when you want to buckle the baby in. And maybe a little more weight compared to other baby carriers - but it carries the chassis with it, so that's something to be reckoned with. With my first daughter I had a Maxi-Cosi Pebble and a Quinny Zapp, but then the Doona is 100 and 1 compared to that.

  • Foldable wheels attached to the carseat itself
  • Lightweight
  • Convenient
  • Easy to remove cover and clean
  • Isofix
  • Good looking
  • Very short seatbelt straps
  • Price (I think price is a bit too much for a carseat, especially if you add all accessories)
  • Handle too short for 188cm tall person

Just amazing, the most convenient pushchair I've ever had!!

This pushchair is the best for quick trips such as appointments; however, if you are having a day out shopping or going for a longer walk, I think the baby would be more comfortable in a bigger pushchair with bigger wheels (just my thought).

I'm 164 cm, and I injured my back years ago. This car seat is perfect as I didn't need to take the rest of the pushchair from the car boot or to carry the car seat all the way. I just take the car seat out, unfold the wheels, and I'm good to go.

Our son has been growing very quickly to the point where at 5 months was wearing clothes for 12months old baby. We had to give up on this car seat as I was unable to lift him up anymore, but also, the straps became very tight, and even after adjusting them, they seemed too short.
