Emmaljunga NXT60

The tiny all-terrain beast with a long leg rest

The Emmaljunga NXT60 is a smaller brother of the most superior Emmaljunga stroller model - the NXT90. This practical stroller/stroller system features the same carrycot and seat unit as the NXT90 but comes with smaller wheels. The overall width of only 58 cm allows you to push through narrow city sidewalks as well as shopping aisles, while the stable chassis with suspension and high-quality wheels can handle even a more demanding terrain.

When purchasing the stroller, you can choose between different types of chassis that come with a different color and wheel type. The elegant, black Competition chassis is the urban variation featuring a black leatherette bumper bar and narrower, maintenance-free rubber wheels. The chrome, silver Lounge chassis sports black leatherette and robust, all-terrain air-filled wheels with white trim. The black Outdoor chassis comes with a contrasting brown leatherette and all-terrain air-filled wheels with a distinctive, rugged tire profile. The height of the handlebar can be adjusted by rotation as well as telescopically, so the stroller is comfortable for everyone.

Using the lever at the back, the ergonomic, bucket-type seat unit can be tilted into one of four positions. The NXT60 seat offers a full recline as well as an upright, ‘eat-&-go’ arrangement. The leg rest is individually adjustable, and the whole seat is very spacious. Suitable from six months onwards, you will need to get a carrycot or adapters for a car seat for your newborn baby. The backrest of the well-ventilated, spacious carrycot can be inclined. A wide range of optional accessories is available. The NXT60/NTX90 seat is compatible with the NXT Challenge running chassis (available separately).

I was expecting more of the "Swedish quality"...
good
I bought the stroller second-hand, 8 months old, and in a nice condition. My mistake was that I didn't try it "loaded" with a child before purchasing it - because that's where my dissatisfaction with the stroller lies, mainly. Maneuvering with a 13 kg child is quite clumsy and makes you feel like being in a gym. The center of gravity when parent-facing (especially in lying position) is simply bad, lifting the pushchair on the sidewalk is also quite difficult for me.

Otherwise, the chassis is really sturdy and stable, and with a very nice suspension system. The brake pedal is also really strong - too tough to my liking, I recommend buying work boots with a steel toe for more comfortable braking when you're buying this stroller 😂

The positioning of the pushbar is truly both by telescoping it in or out and by rotating it, but you can use the telescoping only if the stroller wants to push a child or a dwarf 😄 At lower positions of the bar, there is also no place to recline the seatback, because the positioning of the handle inwards (towards the seat) leaves only a minimum of space ...

The stroller presents itself as an urban stroller, which in my opinion should mean lower weight, compactness, and easy maneuvering, but it does not meet much of those criteria... The stroller is a bit heavy for a city stroller, and the fold is a bit weird, but I wouldn't even mind that much (and the clicking up the basket) if it would fold with the seat attached... because if you want to fold the stroller without placing the seat on the ground, you have to get an assistant 😅 PS: even that shopping basket could be larger if this should be good for city use 🙈

I had the "ergo" seat (a bucket type seat); to begin with, I must praise the quality covers that are very easy to clean. Overall, the whole looks very comfortable and has a large hood with the possibility of ventilation. The manufacturer states a weight capacity of 22 kg, which is a really high number, but if he even puts 30 on paper, it doesn't matter, because you won't put such a large child in there, not enough space for that. My 2.5-year-old's head was sticking out over the roof, although - exceptionally - at least her legs didn't stick out, because the leg rest is really long. The adjustment of the seat back recline of the seat unit is atypical, but very simple and pleasant, actually.

As for the "fancy quality" and the recommendation that it can handle even more families in a row, the 8-month-old stroller has a will in the joint positioning of the seat, the seat does not hold firmly but wobbles a bit (the seller claimed it was quite common), totally worn out rear wheels (Lounge), one visibly more than the other, and the front wheels rattle a bit on worse terrain, the handle cover tends to roll at will and needs to be put back in place almost after each ride. Of course, I didn't have it before buying it used, so I don't know exactly what terrain and how often it was taken outside and manipulated with, but I know that the first owner was caring about it reasonably well as I didn't even find a scratch on the frame.

I would definitely choose another stroller for that kind of money, but I think that there will be parents for which it will suit very well... (until they try something else 😂)

We just got our Emmaljunga NXT60 outdoor version (bucket seat) in a sale from a 2018 collection. I would like to point out that the weights are quite different, I guess, depending on the version. We weighed the chassis with the seat unit, and it was exactly 13 kg. You should be careful about the 2020 version, however, because the manufacturer's info changed quite a bit (2018ú2019 chassis claims 7,5 kg, 2020 chassis claims 9,5 kg) - so I would assume the overall weight of the newer models will be higher.

Anyway, even if still waiting for our baby to come and use the pram, I can say that it's very very high quality, sturdy - so much sturdier than other models we tried in the shop, the fabric quality and color (olive) are incredible, the bucket-type seat unit is truly long, and it doesn't seem narrow at all. My almost 2-meter-tall hubby is completely comfy with the pram - I thought it would be a bit too low to the ground for him, but it's not, it looks normal. No need to buy the bigger NXT90 because of your height (if you don't have other reasons, like terrain use, for it :-) ). I can't wait to use it in 'real conditions' with the baby :-)

  • lightweight
  • agile
  • handy
  • maneuverable
  • comfortable
  • high-quality
  • great details
  • beautiful
  • the bucket-type seat is a nit narrower than I am used to
  • shopping basket could be a little bigger
  • the seat is lower on the chassis

Love at first touch 💓😄🙏

After a recommendation here on Strollerbase Ask an Expert, I bought this stroller - and it a, which fulfilled everything I wished and searched for.

So, Emmaljunga NXT60 (I considered the NXT90 chassis a lot as well - especially for my husband liked the NXT90 robustness in his hands more, and also those big wheels). Eventually, because of the fact that I use the stroller the most, I decided for the smaller chassis (NXT60) - I mean, it is mostly me loading and unloading it in and out of the car boot, etc. There are various NXT versions - including different types of wheels. Now they are putting all of them under the Eco line - there will only be eco lounge and eco outdoor variations available soon (they said), and cooperation with Bosch with an electric chassis, which my man wanted to wait for 🙏😄🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️😂😂😂

We still have the "old" classic Outdoor. Air-filled wheels with a tread pattern, which was advised to me by the vendor over the phone (I needed a consultation). There are also the other air-filled wheels - Lounge, and the maintenance-free Competition wheels. I have had solid wheels until this stroller, and I wanted a change. They say they never had a problem with the air-filled ones.

The seat unit also can be chosen - a more traditional one (marked by the letter F) or a bucket-type one (without F). I chose the bucket seat - it is narrower than I expected but long enough. Anyhow, the goal of such an ergonomic seat is to make the baby more snug and safe-feeling because of the tighter, shaped space (like being curled up in mommy's belly).

I must say it suits us. The seat unit is reversible - both forward- and rear-facing. Super lightweight feel of pushing, really compact, quickly folded, and maneuverable even one-handedly. Very easy to store. It has a handy shopping basket, even though it has no cover and is a little smaller in size.

For me, it's the stroller we were looking for - and my boy falls asleep in it within 5 minutes. Which he never did before in our first stroller.

Thank you, Eli, for a great suggestion - I can only recommend it.
