Joie Mytrax Flex Signature

The stylish, 'noir' Mytrax with the extra seat-suspension

The Joie Mytrax Flex from the Signature collection is a higher version of the Mytrax. The Mytrax Flex is only available in the elegant Noir colorway featuring a glossy black chassis, a sleek brown leatherette handlebar, and reflective elements. The weight capacity of the stroller was also increased up to 25kg. The all-terrain wheels are equipped with foam-filled tires and a soft flex comfort ride suspension system, the Mytrax Flex is offering a 30% smoother ride and can certainly handle a rough terrain. You can fold it one-handedly by lifting the strap on the seat.

The hood can be extended and for summer days, it features mesh sides for better ventilation. The non-reversible seat can be reclined fully, sufficient even for babies from birth. You can also place the baby into a car seat or a carrycot (the Ramble XL) that has to be purchased separately. Car seat adapters come with the stroller. The seat can be taken off the chassis completely, so the carrycot or the car seat can be added to the bare chassis without the seat present.

parents say thx^^
  • It is beautiful
  • Sturdy chassis
  • The wheels are ok
  • Suspension
  • Lie-flat position
  • Better than Britax B-Motion
  • In the lying position, you can't get to the basket
  • Where the hell do I put the changing bag?
  • I'm sure I'll accidentally knock the cup holder off somewhere within a week
  • In the dark, you can't see a damn thing the baby's doing in the stroller

The pushchair is fine. It looks beautiful and doesn't look cheap. The frame is sturdier and does not give the impression of a toy. The cushioning on the wheels is great, but the cushioning under the seat is even better - you can cross with your little one on the bumps and it will be like being on a trampoline.

The extended canopy is good against the sun, of course, but also against the wind. At the same time, you'll find mesh vents on the sides to keep baby from getting sunburnt in the summer. The wheels are great if you don't forget to grease them. You just have to buy the apron extra, you have a choice of plain and signature...

The cup holder can only be in that one spot and where you need the pushchair to be as narrow as possible, it gets in the way. So if another mum wants to squeeze in on public transport and she doesn't fit because of your coffee, then she's pretty pissed. As an anti-social claustrophobic, I'm totally fine with that. Oh and forget the changing bag, that wasn't planned for so you have to work out how to fit it in.

When the stroller is in the full recline position, you can only put thin stuff in the basket under the stroller... we'll just buy pizza and spa wafers for now until the little guy starts sitting up :-D. Otherwise, the stroller push is awesome and I definitely recommend it...

  • great suspensions
  • quality wheels
  • inflatable wheels at the back and rubber filled at the front, no stones getting in... they still look like new
  • it's heavy
  • it rattles

I have an X-Lander at home and as long as I only had one child, the weight didn't bother me (it's 15 kg). But with two kids, when I have to carry a lot of things, suddenly 15 kg became 30... so I was looking for a lighter, cushioned sports bike with inflatable wheels.

I chose the Joie Litetrax 4 Air, but then I came across the Mytrax Flex and bought that. The suspension is really great, it's great to ride, it can be controlled with one hand and my daughter always climbs into it at home (and we have our 9th stroller (yeah, some people are into shoes, handbags - and I'm into strollers:)) BUT what bothers me about it is that it rattles when riding on rough terrain. It's like I'm carrying a rattle in a basket... And the weight of the stroller is stated differently by each seller, but personally I don't find it much lighter than the X-Lander - and it's supposed to be about 12-13 kg.

Superb wheels and great suspension

4
  • Great wheels (soft and quiet)
  • Good suspension
  • Easy to push
  • Spacious and soft seat for larger toddler
  • Large canopy
  • The seat has also suspension to absorb shock
  • Adjustable handlebar
  • Accessing the basket even if on the most upright position. In the sleeping position it is quite inaccessible.
  • The seat is a little bit lower in position so the baby seems a little far.
  • The seat is slanted in its most upright position.
  • The positioning of the bumper bar is not good either. It's a little far and lower for the toddler who loves to lean on it.

I love it though it has some cons. First of all, superb wheels and great suspension. I used it on cobblestones and hard (city) terrains there are so quiet and easy to push. Surprisingly, it automatically gets on curbs which is a plus for me since I am on the skinnier side and doesn't require a lot of pressure and strength.

Accessing the basket is its number one con. One thing I do not understand is the purpose of a bigger basket if you cannot access it due to the narrow opening space.

Theres not much to complain about

4
  • Spacious
  • You can buy additional parts to make it a full system from birth
  • Rear inflatable wheels (shame the front wheels are also not inflatable)
  • Inaccessible basket when in the napping position (just like most pushchairs have)
  • Chassis squeaks when getting up a curb - only with a certain movement
  • The bumper bar doesn't open on only one side

There's not much to complain about in general. An excellent, large canopy, easy one-hand push, spacious seat, 25 kg weight capacity (even though some countries claim 15 kg, weird - but the manufacturer claims 25 🤷🏻‍♀️😂). The brake is easy to activate/release, the fold is compact, and the folded pushchair stands by itself, which helps me so much when I load and unload it to and from our car. The only thing I am missing here is a bumper bar that would open on one side (instead of having to be removed completely).

An excellent pushchair. I recommend it to all those moms searching for something more spacious and comfortable to drive (even in hard terrain conditions) - the design is also very pleasant, and the fold is very easy.

I own it for two months already, and of course, I noticed some cons - like a worse manipulation since the seat is wider and lower on the chassis (compared to the pram I had before this one). I also am not a fan of the accessibility of the (otherwise spacious) shopping basket - it's a shame because it's large, but I have to put things in there one by one. But I truly only mind this one thing, so overall, the pushchair scores very well.

The wheel suspension, the seat suspension, the huge extendable canopy, the overall design, and quality are all really lovely.

A small tractor

3

The pushchair itself is actually quite good - a small 'tractor'. BUT those rattling wheels are a catastrophy - I wish I'd bought it online, then I'd just send it back immediately!

I am very happy about it. The design is beautiful; the push is great; the changing bag is practical and was included. The wheels are a bit noisy, but I don't even hear it anymore.

Functional and beautiful

5
  • Spacious carrycot
  • Lightweight
  • Compact
  • Great sports seat
  • Great look

An awesome stroller for any kind of terrain. Large carrycot. Functional and beautiful.

  • Telescopic handle that adjusts outwards
  • Spacious
  • Stylish
  • Small basket
  • Small footmuff (the original one from Joie)

I am glad to have this pushchair. I bought it with the carrycot, and that lasts around six months. After that, you need to mount the seat fabrics (no clicking it on). The seat is spacious; the manufacturer claims a weight limit of 25 kg.

  • Beautiful fabrics, they seem expensive
  • Large canopy with side mesh windows
  • Rotating handlebar
  • Maneuverability
  • Suspension
  • A great pocket for bits and pieces in the lower part, BUT I am kicking it sometimes
  • Front wheels rattle a bit, but you get used to it with time
  • Sometimes the recline mechanism gets stuck a bit
  • Basket accessibility is worse when the backrest is reclined
  • Since the handlebar goes in the upward direction, you cannot hang a bag no it without the bag banging into the rear of the stroller
  • I'd appreciate a more horizontal (when in the upper position) leg rest
  • The bumper bar is only removable, not gate-opening, and fits quite tightly - which is a problem in winter when you're using a footmuff

Beautiful, lightweight, and easy to fold. Overall, I am satisfied, but of course, there are some limitations.

Your questions about the Joie Mytrax Flex Signature

1)

Hi,

Is Mytrax Flex's rear wheel to be air filled? Or us it puncture-proof?

Please confirm. Thanks.

Hi, Arnab,

The Mytrax Flex has actual rubber wheels, but instead of air-filled tires in them, it has a kind of foam. So it does not need to be inflated, and it won't get a puncture.

However, it can be that in some countries, because of different needs of the customers or sellers, the wheels can have different than "usual" characteristics, so the best thing to do to be 100% sure is to ask the seller you're going to be buying from just to confirm.

2)

I have been advised that the Mytrax Flex (not signature - black handle not brown) is a more basic version of the Flex signature and it is cheaper than the Mytrax. They said the Flex material is slightly different to the signature one but that's about it so the additional cost probably isn't worth it... is this correct please? As everything I've looked at online only mentions the Signature flex and says that's an upgraded version of the 'basic' Mytrax, there doesn't seem to be any details about the Mytrax Flex (not signature) version.

I am trying to find out what the folded dimensions are and it's a nightmare, the Joie website doesn't even mention the Mytrax Flex (not signature) version?! It appears to me that the Mytrax Flex (not signature) is a more basic version of the Mytrax and the Mytrax Flex signature?

Hi, Mary,

Joie Mytrax is the basic model. The word "Flex" means the extra suspension under the seat, meaning a little more comfort for the little one. The word "Signature" means the Signature colorway and leatherette details that don't add functionality, more like a more luxurious feel.

From my point of view, the model you're describing will have the same dimensions as the Flex Signature, but will be in a bit more basic colorway. It will be a little simpler, covers-wise, version of the Signature Flex while better, thanks to the added suspension, than the basic Mytax.

I hope I helped. ^_^

Hello,

I'm thinking of buying a Joie mytrax flex. Which is £150 I'm a little confused because I've been looking at a Joie mytrax which is £219. Could you let me know what is the difference between them?

Thanks

Hi, Kath,

The price has to be either a sale / reduced one, or they are selling out their older (last year's or so) models (which is not a problem at all). Normally, the Mytrax Flex is the higher version, with an extra suspension under the seat, and premium fabrics and colorways. If you see it in a better price offer, it is definitely worth taking over the "basic" Mytrax.

Hi,

Is the seat and backrest padded in all Joie strollers?

Hi, Holly,

Well, every stroller from Joie has an amount of padding, but I cannot promise the same amount in all Joie models. Simpler models, such as umbrella-style buggies, are less padded, of course. A lot is also derived from the stroller's price.

Hi Eli, is there a separate signature line from Joie Mytrax Flex? I bought one from Mytrax Flex line (select pavement) but do not see any difference in the features either did not find anything on their website. I am confused if they are the same.

Hi, CHaity,

No worries, they are the same 😊 There's no "other" signature line - just different colorways. So yes, they are the same. We'll be glad if you left us a review after you have an opinion about your chosen pushchair 🤗

What's the difference between foam coated and foam filled in terms of comfort etc? I can't find a comparison between these two and it is something I'd like to know in order to choose between 2 strollers. The Joie Mytrax Flex is one of them.

Hey, there!

I wrote a full article about different stroller wheels type and their comparison/differences here. Read it to know more details, but basically, the EVA foam is the simplest and "hardest", "most prone to wear. The advantage of those is mainly their lower price as well as lowest weight (with no threat of punctures). The foam-filled tires, on the other hand, are much closer to air-filled (inflatable) tyres - so usually larger, more all-terrain, adding a bit of natural suspension - while (as opposed to air-filled wheels) no punctures there as well. These are, on the other hand, more expensive as well as bulkier, heavier - so they make the pushchair heavier and bulkier overall.

If just the city is your playground, I would go for the lighter stroller wheels, most of the time, and for more bumps and holes, I would opt for the more all-terrain option. But this all depends on your personal preference, driving style, expectation, and budget as well.
