Very nice stroller, easy to get in and out of the car but not comfortable to use on more bumpy roads.

Love it

  • super light
  • great engineering
  • smoothest push even on crappy sidewalks
  • doesn’t tip over
  • good materials
  • comfy handlebar
  • one-handed fold
  • decent basket for a compact stroller
  • awkward recline and angle adjust
  • need to buy the footrest
  • doesn’t fold with the bumper bar
  • no snack tray
  • the seat is pretty vertical (like, Yo-yo is more reclined even when the baby is sitting) but I'd like it to be even more vertical

Love it.

  • Easy fold
  • Seat liner can be easily removed for washing
  • Spacious and comfy seat
  • Sturdy
  • Can attach compatible buggy board (bought separately)
  • No parent-facing option
  • Does not lie flat
  • Extras need to be bought separately

I love my Joolz Aer. It is strong and sturdy, lightweight and folds easily. I used it for my older child after he outgrew his main stroller and then purchased the co-ordinating buggy board when my second was born for when we travelled.

Overall probably the best lightweight stroller out there. Yes it is pricey but definitely way better value for money than the Babyzen Yoyo which does not sit up anywhere as upright as the Aer and does not have a one-handed fold.

  • Beautiful design
  • Weight
  • Extendable canopy
  • Plenty of accessories available for purchase
  • High quality wheels - no rattling, no stones getting stuck
  • Long backrest
  • Basket is large enough (for the size of the stroller)
  • Higher price (yes, there are cheaper \"airplane\" strollers
  • but the price matches the quality)"
  • The stroller cannot be folded with the belly bar
  • Not a fll lie flat
  • Everything has to be bought separately, and since the leg rest is also bought optionally, it is not as sturdy
  • The handle height cannot be adjusted, I would have liked a telescopic one (although the stroller would have been a bit heavier - the manufacturer knew why they did it this way)

I bought the stroller for my 2 year old son who no longer sleeps in the stroller, but we use it often. It fulfilled this 100%.

My son doesn't look overgrown in it, the backrest is super long. The seat is spacious - and it fits the original Joolz winter foot muff.

The wheels are completely quiet - for being made of foam, the quality is noticeable. I walk with the stroller every day, and it hasn't happened once that we had a pebble stuck in the wheels (which happened to me regularly with the Valco).

The stroller also can go over grass, some uneven surfaces, even cobblestones, but it doesn't go completely smoothly there. However, it can handle large gravel just by backing up.

I can carry the stroller up to the first floor with my son (12 kg) just fine, folded, it looks like a larger handbag, and it also fits behind the car seat (since my husband is a car pedant, I always put it in a wrap, and thus the seats aren't dirty either).

The downside is that everything has to be purchased separately. I immediately bought a footrest and a bumper bar for it (I recommend it, but the downside is that it always has to be taken off to fold the stroller), and later we bought an organizer, a bottle holder - and a cool gadget, especially for summer, is the sun visor (but with it, the footrest gets in the way).

I guess the only downside to the stroller is the price - and the fact that the headrest doesn't go all the way down. That bothers my son, for example, but he doesn't sleep in the stroller that often, so we'll survive 😀

I wanted to get a Joolz Aer, but I decided to return it in the end. It feels fantastic in your hand, the push is enjoyable, and I also loved the inside padding. Awesome, no cheap fabrics, great to touch, and filled with a comfy foam layer. The insufficient recline and the recline system, along with the short hood, made me change my mind, unfortunately.

The buggy is lovely and high-quality

  • great seat back length and overall space for the child

  • newborn-compatible with the carrycot or as a travel system
  • gorgeous colors (the belly bar on the carrycot gets different with different color, which we noticed in the shop)
  • all accessories sold separately
  • not a lie-flat

We got it as a from-birth travel stroller, as we have to travel quite a lot, even with a baby. The new carrycot is beautiful and spacious enough, so happy with that for sure. The seat, unfortunately, is not a lie flat, and the adjustment is not the smoothest, BUT we knew that when purchasing the buggy. In the meantime, when the little one doesn't sit yet, we'll combine it with the Cybex Cloud Z reclinable seat.

The buggy is lovely and high-quality, even though it does get pricey. The leg rest is highly recommended. The basket is nicely sized for the type, and it is accessible, which is not a standard with smaller buggies, so hooray! The seat back is so high so I am pretty sure we'll use it even for a larger toddler.

  • pushes great
  • looks great

  • not all-terrain/small wheels, but I wasn't expecting Aer to be a pushchair for rough terrain

I use it with a 2.5yo for pretty much everyday walks in the city. She already walks part of the way, so I didn't want anything cumbersome. We bump into the Aers more and more; moms around noticed it's a quality, spacious option with a nice push. It's not all-terrain by far, but the suspension is nice anyhow.

I have an older son, for which I only needed something usable for trips and occasional needs. That it does very well, and what was most important for me - without unnecessary noise. The spaciousness and comfort for the child and me, the parent, are great bonus points too.

  • Extendable canopy
  • One-hand folding
  • Super compact while very spacious, even for an older toddler
  • Smooth manipulation, even in harsher terrain conditions
  • Super big basket
  • The bumper bar and the leg rest extension have to be bought separately

The Joolz Aer is a brilliant buggy for travels, loading/unloading to and from your car - while offering so much space and comfort for your child. Good even for the afternoon naps, as we discovered!

Your questions about the Joolz Aer

1)

Hi, I’m looking for a stroller with a vertical seat, my kod likes to sit upright. Does the Joolz Aer or Aer+ have this?

Hey, Athina,

Well, the short answer is no, it doesn't have a completely upright seat. It does have a seat that is more upright than most strollers this size, though - if you're looking for this cabin-sized, travel stroller type, you won't find one that is completely upright. For that, you will need the heavier, bulkier reversible seaters.

For the Sage color way - is the stroller handle black or brown? Is it leather?

Hey, Ann,

The Joolz Aer Sage's handlebar is covered with leatherette (PU / vegan leather), and it is black.

Hi!

I’ve noticed there is a “coming soon” page on the Joolz website which mentions they will be releasing a new model. Do you know if this is an update to the Aer+ or something else? Asking because we are leaning towards getting an Aer+ as our travel stroller, but we don’t need it yet as baby still won’t arrive for a few months so wondering if I should wait in case a new release comes out. The reason I’m tempted to buy at the moment though is because it’s currently in the summer sales with a 20% discount!

Thanks,
Emma

Heya,

Since Joolz updated the Aer not too long ago, and they say:

"We’re (very) excited to show you our new beauty! Soon we will come with a new perfectly smart pushchair that is easy on the eye and easy to use. Its design is clever and carefully thought through, packed with unique and smart features."

I think this will be a brand new pushchair. I may be wrong, but it feels like they're coming up with something entirely new. I hope it's a lightweight mid-size (not cabin luggage-sized) forward-facing one, but that is just my wish for practicality :-)

When folded with the additional leg rest, does the leg rest block the carry strap?

Heya,

It should be possible to use the carry strap with he leg rest on. It is a bit in the way, but since the carry strap has an easy click on - click off removal system, it is not hard to go around the leg rest.

Hey!

Could you fold the Aer with a footmuff on?

Thank you!

Hiya, Jin,

In theory, you probably can, but the fold will be incomplete. The Footmuff will be in the way of the frame to get together and click in the automatic folding lock. So you can partially fold it, but, depending on the thickness of the cosytoes/footmuff, you might just end up with a bulker stroller that doesn't click in place. I personally would NOT do it like that and wouldn't recommend folding it with a footmuff.

How does the canopy compare to the Minu V2? Do you prefer the Minu V2 recline?

Heya, CC,

The Hub's canopy is not huge, nor it is tiny for the type either. The coverage is pretty much similar, while the Minu's being perhaps a tiny tad larger (and the Aer has a larger mesh ventilation part which is at the same time a good thing, but also a bad thing as you cannot cover it while also having an extended canopy) - not really making much of a difference on a very hot summer day, I'm afraid, still. What actually will make a difference for you, or any other summer stroller user is the possibility of any universal sun shade, which will cover the child's lower half. In Aer's case, they make a dedicated original sunshade for literally full protection, so that would be an accessory that wins this round.

About the recline, I think they are, again, similar. For a less than 6 months old baby, not an ideal setup, but for toddlers, both will be ok for napping. What makes a difference here is the deeper seat space of the Aer, which makes the child slide down less. The downside is no included leg rest on the Aer, but if you are willing to pay extra for the leg rest, it might be a little more comfy solution for napping. Again, however, the difference is very very small in terms of comfort or angle, so I would suggest lookingat what you "like" here more rather than a 100 % clear selling point.

Hi,

Can the bassinet/carry cot be attached to the 2020 model? Or only compatible with 21?

Hey, Tash,

The Joolz Aer carrycot IS compatible with older Aers, yes. No worries, you cat attach it to your 2020 Joolz Aer.

Hi Eli!

Could you tell me at what height is the seat/ cot?

Hi, Verena,

Sorry, it took a few days to answer you. I had to get my hands on an Aer to measure it for you exactly and give you a true measurement. The Joolz Aer's seat is positioned 44 cm from the floor to the sitting part.

Is the Aer suitable as a primary stroller from newborn (when used with a carseat or carrycot)? Would you say the pram would last me from when baby is 0, till they are around 3 if used as a primary stroller? I would be going to parks and around town, and most probably wouldn’t be using on rough countryside terrains as would probably use the baby carrier.

Hi, Zarara,

I wouldn't really recommend it as a primary stroller (aka pram) - at least not as an only one. I mean, the small size, the small wheels, and the seat style are - YES - great for the stroller to last and be practical even with a toddler later on. On the other hand, after the carrycot (which is 100% newborn friendly, even if maybe the ride comfort is not the best for such a small baby), the seat won't be enough, in my opinion, for that time around 6 months of age when the baby is still a baby and needs a lie-flat seat. The seat is best for a child around 1 year.

So, to use for a newborn on the go, while traveling, or occasionally, absolutely. For the age around 6-12 months, I would get something more substantial, ideally reversible. And the last thing to say - an ultra-compact, because to the small size and driveability, is not the best to use every day, many hours. Even a good one like the Aer - I mean, the frame is weaker, and the suspension is there, but there should be something sturdier, providing more support, for a newborn and a small baby to use more hours a day. Just my experience, that is all. Of course, if you would be using an ergo-carrier most of the time, it might work...

For shopping, undemanding walks, and holidays, the Joolz Aer is a good pushchair, even with the carrycot or as a travel system with a car seat. And the seat is nice and roomy, even for a 3-4yo. So in theory, it can last, I am just concerned about the driving and longevity because of it being designed for more of an occasional kind of use (as opposed to primary) - and the fact that around 6-12 months of age, you'll be probably only using the carrier.

10)

What are the Joolz Aer's seat dimensions, please (seat back height, depth and seat to canopy)?

Tia

Hello, Tia,

The Joolz Aer's seat measurements are as follows: 55 cm backrest height, 37 cm seat width, seat depth 25 cm. Overall seat surface length is, therefore, approx. 80 cm (without the optional leg rest that I highly recommend).

Thanks to the truly high seatback, it is an ultracompact buggy rather suitable for older toddlers (as opposed to other ultra-compact strollers).
