The Maclaren Techno XT is a flagship Maclaren stroller. It is easily manoeuvrable and has a high weight capacity. The Techno XT is one class lower than the highest [[maclaren-techno-xlr|Techno XLR]. Compared to the XLR, the XT is lighter and has a slightly smaller seat. Although the stroller is not compatible with a car seat, thanks to the soft carrycot, Maclaren Techno XT is suitable to use from birth.
In 2016, the Maclaren Techno XT underwent a facelift. The newer version features an extendable UPF 50+ hood with an improved sun visor, a bigger peek-a-boo window and mesh panels on either side allowing the air to circulate through. The brake has also been improved. The Techno XT backrest recline mechanism can now be operated just with one hand instead of lifting levers on the sides.
The Techno XT was also released in limited editions belonging to Maclaren Objects of Design: collaboration with BMW M, classical Albert Thurston model to pay tribute to the inventor of suspenders and Spitfire, the aircraft inspired version to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Maclaren brand. Owen Maclaren, formerly a test pilot and the designer of Spitfire undercarriage legs used his knowledge in aeronautical engineering when creating the first umbrella stroller.
