The best pushchair I've ever had

5
  • Easily controllable
  • Large basket
  • Lightweight
  • The backrest doesn't go completely upright

The best pushchair I've ever had!

Great experience

4
  • East to use
  • Compact size
  • Large basket
  • Rain cover can be secured on
  • Rain cover seems a bit small so may not cover a toddler’s feet
  • It doesn’t come with a handle (bumper) bar if you want that

Great experience.

Your questions about the Mothercare Amble

1)

Is the chair reversible to face either way?

Hi, Drea,

No, the seat can only face forward, it cannot be put in the opposite direction to face the parent.

Hi,

Just like to know if the handlebar is supposed to move back and forward slightly as doesn’t seem very secure x

Hi, Jackie,

A bit of will, looseness, is often happening with strollers, especially if their suspension is not considerable - it helps absorb shocks and overall is not viewed as a flaw. If it is very mild, it is ok. However, if it's a bit too much or getting gradually worse, I would contact customer service or the seller you bought it at, as something might be loosening inside.

Hi,

Does the Amble stroller have an extendable handle for taller people?

Thank you Lauren

Heya, Lauren,

You'd find this piece of info in the Handlebar section under the stroller, you just needed to click on it to open it ^_^ Unfortunately, no, this stroller has a fixed handle, it doesn't adjust by rotating of telescoping. It is a bit of a lower handlebar that is 101 cm from the ground. It is not the best model for tall people from the handle point of view, to be honest.

Hi,

How do I get the rain cover to go into the zipped compartment after taking it out for the first time? I can’t fold it down small enough!

Thanks

Heya, Roqe,

I will probably not make you happy but that will be very very hard. Most raincovers are very hard to fold to a small size, so the only way really is by trying... Otherwise, I would recommend either to get (or have made) a pouch where it will be pushed in, and such a pouch can be thrown into the basket easily. Another way (my way) is not to take the rain cover with - only if you actually expect raining, I mean it is super bulky and takes up a lot of space... Last resprt is to get an expensive rain cover (ie. the Elodie Details one) that folds down small and use that.

Sorry for not having a better answer! ^_^

My raincover was missing from the box.

Hiya, Sid,

If your stroller didn't get a rain cover (and it should have - based on the seller's listing, which you should check if you bought it online), your only way to go is to write/call/visit the seller and claim there wasn't a raincover.

I cannot help you with that as we don't sell anything here, just offer advice. And my advice here is to contact the place you bought your stroller at and directly state the problem, demanding a solution. They should send you the rain cover for sure.

Worst case, you can always send the pushchair back...

It says removable canopy. I brought my pram as a display so I’m not sure how the canopy was connected or how to disconnect it. Any ideas?

Hi, Kay,

The Mothercare Amble's hood can be removed from the frame (you need to slide the front attachments up and then detach all that is behind from the rest of the fabrics). It, however, cannot be removed in any easy way from the wires that hold it. It should also not be washed to not make it damaged or faded (read more in our cleaning and maintenance guide to know more as well as find inspiration on how to clean your canopy).

It should be possible to put it completely off, but needing quite some strength in pulling of the wires and then putting them back will be even more difficult... I myself would not remove the textiles from the wires, to be honest, it's too much of a risk. Do check your manual if unsure, but I am pretty sure the manufacturer doesn't recommend washing the fabrics - just wipe-clean or hand-brush gently.

Can I buy a canopy separately? (I want to change color or if it's missing).

Hi, Neso,

Well, not really, I never saw the Mothercare's Amble sun hood offered just so, in their shops, nor did I see it on eBay and similar sites that usually offer these things... The general answer will, therefore, be a no, BUT...

Try contacting their customer service. Many brands (e.g., Valco Baby), do tend to offer the canopies at least as a spare part, so they might be able to order or supply you with one of a different color.

Also, please leave us a review of the Amble to help other parents make their choice, just as we try to help you! Thank you!

Hello dear,

I have this stroller and I want a bumper bar or a food tray. From where can I get it? My baby is not comfortable without it. Can you tell me which one will be compatible with it?

Hello, Mino,

There's no original, fitting belly bar to the Amble pushchair, unfortunately. There are two things I would advise you because of that.

The first would be to have one made by a tailor. It will be a semi-soft one, and the principle (and what you should ask to be made for you) is to have a semi-rigid tube sewn around with fabric and side straps ('laces') to tie around the sidebars. It should look like this:

Another way is to get one of those bumper bar toys that clasp on the bars (and usually have something like a steering wheel or buttons). I mean something in the likes of this:

It won't hold as strong as a real bumper bar - it may fall or move when the child pushes its whole weight on it, but I had one exactly like this, and it worked well enough in terms of a belly bar function. Google "child toy bumper bar steering wheel,""steering wheel pushchair toy," "steering wheel for stroller," or "ELC baby stroller steering wheel" (the one in the picture is from the ELC brand).

I hope I helped. If nothing works or you cannot find any even on Amazon or eBay, there's not much else to do... either to live with your pushchair as it is or change for a stroller that does feature a bumper bar.
