Teutonia Cosmo

DISCONTINUED in 2011
see 2 parent reviews

The Teutonia Cosmo is predominantly an urban stroller with a firm but slim chassis equipped with a soft suspension system. In case you need to conquer a rough terrain, the optional front all-terrain axle with fixed wheels is also available to swap for the basic swivel wheels. The decelerative handbrake is also available optionally.

The softly padded reversible seat can be reclined fully. You can also purchase an optional soft carrycot that you can add to the seat, or a hard carrycot (either the Comfort Plus or the Made for You) to use the stroller from birth. Using adapters, you can also attach a car seat. Many other accessories are also available: footmuffs, hand muffs, a summer set with a sun visor, an umbrella, the original all-weather shield, wheel covers or the expandable changing bag.

Indestructible

5
  • Easy one-hand driving
  • Adjustable handle
  • Hand brake
  • Large storage basket
  • None

An indestructible stroller that we used for easy walks on asphalt and on snowy hiking trails.

  • Reliable
  • High quality
  • No rocking of the frame

A perfect pram that was used with three kids and is still in working condition.

No problem during the whole time, just one frame screw had to be tightened after 2 children.

Your questions about the Teutonia Cosmo

1)

What about the suspension in the stroller that makes it to swing?

Hi, Catalina,

This stroller does have suspension but it is not the swingy, rocking suspension type - for that, you need to check a ibt more retro prams and/or Polish 3in1 stroller systems. The suspension is rather nice on this one, but it is mainly for absorbing shocks on bumps and holes. The Cosmo is mostly an urban stroller so don't expect it to rock like the vintage frames do.

2)

Do the built-in adapters work with the newer Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix iSize car seat? If not, how can I find out which current car seats they do work with? I want to get the safest car seat that will fit the adapters.

Thank you!

Isabella

Hiya, Iz,

It depends on which adapter you have on your Cosmo, as there are two that were sold and distributed with.

This one:

...will only fit BRITAX-ROMER car seats, even the newer 0+ ones. They are good car seats so I wouldn't worry, just they don't fit on all stroller frames.

With this type of attachment/adapters that can be attached to the frame in just the same way:

...you can fit a Maxi-Cosi, Cybex, Kiddy, Recaro, Joie, Nuna car seats to this chassis, so if you have that, you're all set. If you don't, as this is an older model, you'd need to browse classifieds and eBay, you might just find such (but I can't guarantee this).

3)

Hello can I get only the sitting chair with necessary accessories?

Hello, it is not usually in shop offers like that. I would try to ask in a shop they are actually offering this particular model and brand if they can do something about it, but with most probability, they won't be able to, since Teutonia went under Emmaljunga ownership and is producing other models at the time. What I would do, though, would be to go through used models/ads, and bought one (as a whole, for spare parts, if finding a nice offer). There is a possibility someone could be selling it for parts, but that chance is slimmer.

If you, by any chance, meant the whole stroller unit, so a chassis+the seat unit, check offers, but mostly this model, as a discontinued one, will be hard if not impossible to find new and in the stroller configuration only.
