A wider-seat stroller for my 10mo son after the Chicco Urban Plus, within the budget of 500 euro

21 Jan 2020

Good evening.

I need your advice about a stroller wider space-wise - for my 10 months old son. At the moment, he is 9 kg + a winter overall + a footmuff, and our current Chicco Urban Plus Crossover is suddenly too narrow for him.

He still likes having his naps in the stroller. We live in a village and own a car with a small boot… If you advise me on something more expensive , I will have to get a used one, as I do not want to invest more money than we already paid for the Crossover (= €500).

Thank you very much for your reply.

Hello!

The good news is that because the Chicco Urban Plus Crossover is the 2in1 type of the stroller, which means that the carrycot and the seat is one component, it has to be a less spacious, less wide seat-wise type of a system. Any other conventional stroller WILL be probably wider. Shame you didn't mention whether you need a reversible stroller or not. I think that you are going to manage fine with a non-reversible stroller, given that your child is almost a year old now. It is also a more budget-friendly - cheaper option offering the most space. If you agree, I would look at the Joie Mytrax, Oyster Zero, ABC Design Okini, Baby Jogger City Mini GT2, Nuna Tavo

If you'd, however, like a reversible stroller, check the Joie Versatrax, Stokke Beat… You may also like strollers with the bucket-type seat (your Urban had such a seat as well) - like the super spacious Baby Jogger City Premier or the Emmaljunga NXT60, if you can find a nice second-hand option…

Your -very berry- Eli.

Now, this is your place to ask. I'm listening.
