Inglesina Quid²

The Inglesina Quid² is a second generation of the Inglesina Quid ultra-compact travel buggy. This ultra-lightweight stroller is only 17,5 cm deep when folded - while in its second iteration, it sports a higher, 22kg weight capacity. It also comes out in new modern colors in the Quid 2 version.

Being so small after folding, The Quid² is very travel-friendly - you can fit the Quid in the airplane's overhead compartment, thus take on board as carry-on luggage. The forward-facing seat can be reclined fully in the backrest area and features an adjustable leg rest as well. Its UV protective hood is extendable by unzipping as well as with a sun visor, quite rare for this type of buggy. The fabrics (even the canopy fabric) are fully washable. The second Quid's other benefits include the larger, 16cm wheels and a larger-than-average storage basket with higher sides. A rain cover is included with the Quid²; different accessories, including the Snug Pad seat liner insert for babies, are available to purchase separately.

Your questions about the Inglesina Quid²

1)

Can you tell me about the seat material - does it have flame retardant chemicals or other toxins?

Hi, Anna,

No, as far as I know, the fabrics are of quality, and are not dangerous to be used. It's moe or a polyester kind of fabric, rathe pleasant, not too artificial feeling.

2)

Hi,

Is there any chance to get the handle higher/longer, like extended?

Hi, Sofia,

Unfortunately no, there isn't. This is a very small travel stroller and they did not build that feature on it.

Check the Ergobaby Metro+ for an extendable handle.

3)

How to keep it from opening up while storing please? Thanks.

Hi Barb,

It does have a kind of auto-lock feature, though it is not very strong. It can be pulled open easily just by a stronger movement. There is nothing really to stop that, so unless you would get a travel bag or a velcro strap to hold it closed, you will have to live with that unfortunately.

Does the Inglesina Quid2 fits in all airline overhead bin, and which would you recommend for traveling to different countries, the Quid2 or the Libelle 2?

Hi, Ernie,

The answer depends on multiple factors. The Quid2 was already taken on board as cabin luggage - multiple moms I know had it so. It, however, is a tad on the taller side, and some strict airlines might have a problem with it. It is vital to check with your airline of choice and their exact requirements, especially on the measurements they allow. 1-2 centimeters difference should not really make a difference, but 8 to 10 could.

About the Quid vs. Libelle, this again depends. First, on your child size and capabilities. The Quid lies flat, so is better for smaller babies, however has a smaller seat (so it will last shorter) and is larger after folding. The New Libelle from Cybex is smaller and more practical for traveling, however it is better for a larger/taller kid as it doesn't recline fully and is on the simpler side.

Hi Eli,

May I know the Quid2 seat height? Thank you.

Heya, Anne,

I don't really have this exact information down to the centimeter, as I don't have this buggy at hand. It is, however, not overly high up from the ground, the height is at about 41-43 cm from the ground approximately (take this as an educated guess, not an exact information).

If you, by any chance, wanted to know the seatback height, the backrest is 41 cm tall (not a very tall one).

Hi, which would be a better choice between the Quid2 and Leclerc MagicFold?

Looking for sturdy wheels and compact fold for travelling, and comfortable seat and backrest for my 10 month and short 4 yr old.

Many thanks!

Hi, Anni,

I will start with that that if your 4yo is not very, I mean very short, both will be a bit small for him and very, very occasional in usability The strollers themselves seem comparable to me, with the Quid being a bit better in terms of slanted seat. None of them is very spacious, really, and with the leclerc, I find that the fabric around the head and the angle of the seat make the child slide down a bit, but that might not apply to everyone. The Quid, on the other hand, is a bit narrow in the seat and also not exactly roomy. For your 10-month-old, both should work just fine, and I personally would go for the non-automatic-fold of the Quid from a longevity point of view, but here, really, both will do a very similar job, being OK for your smaller one, and a bit small for your older one.

I would, however, probably go for a different model altogether, from the ABC Design Ping to the Joolz Aer, there are a few more spacious options.
